The Directorate of Technical Education, Assam conducts Joint Admission Test (JAT) annually
for admission in undergraduate courses offered by engineering, medical,
ayurvedic and dental colleges in the state of Assam . In order to be eligible for admission and appearance in the
Joint admission test, the students should have passed 12th standard or equivalent
examination with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/other reserved catagories) in
mathematics, physics and chemistry from a recognized Board or university in India . The candidates who have appeared for their 12th examination but their
result is awaited can also appear in the Joint Admission Test.
The Joint Admission Test (JAT 2012) is likely to
be held in June 2012. The complete schedule for application and examination
will be announced in the major newspapers in Assam . The Application Form and Prospectus
can be obtained from the participating colleges in Assam and through post.
The Entrance examination for admission in the
aforesaid courses will have three papers containing 100 objective type
questions. The examination is conducted in English language only. There is no
negative marking for any incorrect answer.
