EdCET 2012 / BEd Common Entrance Test - Andhra University

Admissions in B. Ed. Regular course in the colleges of Education in the State of Andhra Pradesh are through Common Entrance Test (EdCET) conducted by Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. EdCET 2012 for admissions for the session 2012-13 is scheduled to be held on Friday, June 8, 2012 (between 11.00 A.M. to 1.00 P.M.). Andhra University has issued the notification to this effect on March 5, 2012 which is available at Candidates can obtain Application Form alongwith information booklet by hand on payment of Rs.150/- in cash from the designated Head post offices and designated branches of Axis Bank located in Andhra Pradesh. 

Eligibility Criteria for EdCET 2012
  1. Candidates should have passed B.A./ B.Sc./ B.Com./ B.Sc.(Home Science)/ B.C.A./ B.B.M. examination from any recognized University. Candidates appearing for final year degree exam in 2012 can also appear for EdCET 2012.
  2. Candidates should have secured atleast 50% marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree or in the Master’s Degree in the relevant subject or any other qualification equivalent thereto. In case of reserved category candidates, they should have secured a minimum of 40% marks in the qualifying examination.
  3. The qualifying marks in the Entrance Test for all candidates are 25% (i.e. 37 out of 150). There will be no qualifying marks for ranking for candidates belonging to SC/ST catagories. Further, there will be no qualifying marks for women in the subjects of Physical Sciences and Mathematics.
  4. The candidate should have completed 19 years of age as on 01-07-2012.
Submission of Physical application forms (Offline Mode):
Duly filled in and completed application forms should be submitted along with relevant documents to ‘The Convener, Ed.CET-2012, Examination Block (Ground Floor), A.U College of Engineering (A), Andhra University, Visakhapatnam- 530 003, A.P., either by hand or by Speed/Registered Post only on or before 5.00 P.M on 23.04.2012.

Submission of Online Applications:  
Applications can also be submitted online. However, in case of online applications, a copy of the downloaded application along with two passport size photographs and Demand Draft of Rs. 150/- drawn from any Nationalized Bank in favour of “The Secretary, APSCHE, payable at Hyderabad, must be sent to the Convener, Ed.CET-2012, Examination Block (Ground Floor), A.U College of Engineering (A), Andhra University, Visakhapatnam- 530 003 on or before 5.00 P.M on 23.04.2012.
