TNTET 2012 model papers are also published on TRB website. The candidates can download model papers which will help them in preparation for the Exam. TNTET Admit Card/ Hall Ticket to be available on TRB website for download by the students once uploaded by TRB.
Exam Notification
As per the notification issued by National Council for Teacher Education, qualifying the Teacher Eligibility Test is now a pre-requisite for appointment as teacher for class I to VIII in the State of Tamilnadu also. Tamilnadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET) is conducted by Teachers Recruitment Board of Tamilnadu, which is nodal agency for this purpose. As per the notification dated march 7, 2012, TNTET 2012 will be conducted by Teachers Recruitment Board on June 3, 2012 (Rescheduled on 12.07.2012).

Important Dates:
a) Start of sale of application Forms : March 22, 2012
b) Last Date for receipt of Completed Application Forms: April 4, 2012 (Upto 5.30 P.M.)
c) Date of Examination : June 3, 2012 (Rescheduled on 12.07.2012)
Eligibility Criteria:
The candidates should possess following qualifications to be
eligible for appearing in TNTET 2012 Examination:
a)
For Appointment
as Teacher for Class I to V (appearing for Paper I): Candidate should have
passed higher Secondary Examination (10+2 Pattern) and Diploma in Teacher Education from
a Recognized Teacher Training Institute /DIET.
b)
For Appointment
as Teacher for Class VI to VIII (appearing for Paper II):
Candidate should
possess a Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. /B.Sc. / B.Litt.) with Tamil, English,
Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, History and Geography or a Degree with any one of
the equivalent subjects from a Recognized University under 10+2+3 Pattern and a
Degree in Teacher Education (B.Ed.) from a Recognized University.
Candidates who are appearing for the Final Year Examination
of D.T.Ed. / B.Ed. are also eligible to appear in TNTET 2012.
Pattern of
Examination:
There will be 150 Multiple Choice
Questions in each paper and the duration of examination will be one Hour and 30
minutes for each Paper. Paper I is meant for candidates who are seeking
appointment as Teachers for class I to V and paper II is meant for candidates
who are seeking appointment as Teachers for Class VI to VIII. However, the candidates
desiring appointment as Teachers for both catagories i.e. Classes I to V and VI
to VIII will have to appear for both Papers I and II. Syllabus of the
Examination will be issued with the application form and prospectus and the
same is also available on official website of Teachers Recruitment Board at http://trb.tn.nic.in
Miscellaneous:
i) The Teacher Eligibility Test
is only a pre-requisite eligibility test for candidates seeking appointment as
a teacher. Teachers Recruitment Board will follow separate selection
procedure for appointment of teachers.
ii) Candidates who will secure
60% or above percentage in the TNTET 2012 will be issued a TET Eligibility
Certificate, which will be valid for 7 years from the date of issue of the
certificate. A Candidate cannot claim it as a right to be appointed as a
teacher merely by getting a TET Eligibility Certificate.
Application Procedure:
The candidates can obtain the Application
forms and Prospectus from the District Educational Officers on payment of Rs.
50/- in cash. The Examination Fee is Rs. 500/- (Rupees 250/- for SC/ST
/Differently Abled Candidates). The candidates should pay the fee in any Branch
of the State Bank of India
only using the Prescribed Challan attached with the Prospectus. Payment of Fees
in any other method will not be accepted.
The TRB Copy of the Challan should
be sent along with the Application Form without stapling or tying with the Application
form. Candidates should use only the OMR Application Form. NO other form of typed
or printed or photocopied application forms will be accepted and such applications,
if any, will be summarily rejected.
Single Application Form is enough
for a candidate even if he/she wishes to appear for a single paper or both Papers I
and II simultaneously.
The filled-in Application Form
and the TRB Copy of the Fees Payment Challan must be put inside the envelope
provided with the Application Form and submitted in person in the Office from where
the candidate obtained the Application Form. The Application and the Challan
should not be stapled/pasted/tied together. The envelope also need not to be
closed or pasted. Submission of Application Forms online or by post or fax is not accepted by the Teachers Recruitment Board. The candidates should not send
the filled-in Application Form directly to the Teachers Recruitment Board.
