DU CATE 2012 Application Form & Admit Card

Combined Aptitude Test for English (CATE) is conducted by Department of English, University of Delhi (DU) to evaluate aptitude of a student for study of BA (Honours) English course being offered by DU. Earlier, the individual colleges used to take separate tests for admission in BA (Honours) English course but centralized test has been introduced in 2009. The test aims to evaluate language, grammar, writing skills and general literary awareness of the students.

DU CATE 2012 will be held on 09/06/2012 from 1100 hours to 1300 hours (i.e. 2 hours duration). The application form for DUCATE 2012 can be purchased from the designated centres on all working days (Monday to Friday) between 25/05/2012 to 04/06/2012 (Timings 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m and 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. for day colleges and 4.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. for evening colleges) on submission of a bank draft of Rs. 350 in favour of ‘The Registrar, University of Delhi’ drawn on any branches of State Bank of India (SBI), Punjab National Bank, ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank and payable at New Delhi (drafts from subsidiary banks of SBI like State Bank of Mysore, State Bank of Indore, State Bank of Patiala, State Bank of Travancore, etc. will not be accepted). The students should write their Name, Address and Telephone no. on the back of Demand Draft and the application has to be submitted personally as the same will not be accepted by post or courier. The CATE form is valid for admission to BA (Honours) English course being offered by aforesaid colleges which are participating in CATE 2012. The students need to submit other forms as required by DU for admission to non CATE colleges offering BA (Honours) course as well as for any other course.

The Admit Card/ Hall Ticket / Permission Letter for DU CATE 2012 can be downloaded online after 3 days from the date of submission of Application form. In any case, all admit cards will be generated by 06/06/2012. The list of rejected candidates will also be made available online. The CATE 2012 merit list / result is likely to be declared by 25/06/2012. The students will be able to check DU CATE 2012 result / merit list online.
