JEE (Main) 2013 / IIT Joint Entrance Exam (Advanced)

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a press release in respect of Joint Entrance  Examination (JEE) 2013 for admission in B.E./B.Tech. / B.Arch. / B.Planning courses. JEE (Main) 2013 (earlier referred as AIEEE - Paper I) will be held in April 2013 for admission in B.E./ B.Tech. courses offered by NITs, DTU, Delhi, IIITs & CFTIs. JEE Main Exam 2013 will be held in Online and Offline mode. The JEE Main Offline Test will be held on 07.04.2013 whereas Online Exam will be held thereafter in April 2013.The examination for admission in B.Arch. / B.Planning courses (Paper II of erstwhile AIEEE) will be held through Offline mode only on 07.04.2013. Merit list for the purpose of admission in the courses offered by NITs, IIITs, DTU, Delhi and other CFTIs will be finalized by giving 40% weight-age to the marks obtained in12th (or equivalent exam) or other qualifying exam and 60% weight-age to the performance of the student in JEE (Main) Exam 2013.

The admission in IITs, IIT BHU and ISM, Dhanbad will be through JEE (Advanced) 2013 (erstwhile IIT JEE) and top 1,50,000 rank holders of JEE (Main) 2013 will be eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2013. IIT JEE (Advanced) 2013 will be conducted through Offline mode on June 2, 2013. The admissions in the IITs (Bhubaneshwar, Bombay, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Mandi, Patna, Rajasthan, Roorkee & Ropar) will be based on category wise all India rank in JEE (Advanced) 2013 provided such candidates are in the top twenty percentile of successful candidates of their Education Boards in applicable categories.
